Frequently asked questions.
What is a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst)?
A BCBA is a highly trained professional who is responsible for designing, overseeing, and monitoring the ABA therapy programs for individuals. BCBAs are certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) after completing extensive education, supervised experience, and passing a rigorous exam. They assess your child’s needs, create individualized therapy plans, track progress, and supervise the behavior technicians who implement the therapy.
What is a Behavior Technician?
A Behavior Technician (often referred to as an RBT, or Registered Behavior Technician) is a trained professional who works directly with your child to implement the individualized ABA therapy plan created by the BCBA. They provide one-on-one therapy and are responsible for applying specific techniques, collecting data on behavior, and working with your child to reach therapy goals. Behavior technicians are supervised and supported by BCBAs to ensure the therapy is effective and progressing.
How do I know if ABA therapy is right for my child?
ABA therapy is highly effective for children with autism and other developmental disorders. It can help with a variety of challenges, including improving communication skills, increasing social interactions, teaching self-care, and reducing challenging behaviors. If your child is showing signs of developmental delays, difficulties with communication, social interactions, or behaviors that need improvement, ABA therapy may be a good fit. A BCBA can conduct an initial assessment to determine if ABA therapy is the best approach for your child’s needs.
How long will it take for my child to start ABA therapy?
The timeline for starting ABA therapy depends on several factors, including the availability of services, the assessment process, and insurance verification (if applicable). Typically, once we receive your referral and complete the necessary assessments, therapy can begin within 1-2 weeks. If you are using insurance, we may need additional time to verify benefits and obtain authorization, but we will guide you through the process.
What is the age range Grow and Tell provides ABA Therapy for?

How long are ABA therapy sessions?
ABA therapy sessions typically last between 2 to 4 hours, depending on your child’s age, needs, and treatment plan. For younger children or children who may need shorter sessions, we may start with shorter sessions and gradually increase the length as they become more comfortable and focused. We customize the session length to match your child's attention span and therapy goals.
How much will it cost?
The cost of ABA therapy varies depending on the frequency of sessions, the complexity of your child’s needs, and whether you are using insurance or private pay. Insurance coverage can significantly reduce the out-of-pocket cost if your plan covers ABA therapy. For self-pay clients, our clinic offers a transparent fee schedule.
We encourage you to contact us directly for a more personalized cost estimate based on your child’s needs, the frequency of sessions, and whether insurance will be involved.
